About the Booster Club
The Shorewood High School Booster Club (SBC) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization working with our Athletic Director to provide financial assistance and support to our student athletes and coaches to create a positive and spirited atmosphere for all athletic programs.
The first SBC was formed in1972, and called themselves The Athletic Backers. The Backers was a social group formed to help the athletic department with the cost of adding teams due to interest and the formation of Title IX. The SBC as we know it today was was started under Athlete Director Tom Rebholz in 1978. The main initiative of the SBC has always been to assist in purchasing uniforms and necessary equipment for athletic teams. This remains our foremost focus, we are a “Need to Have” organization, not a “Nice to Have” organization.
The First Shorewood Arts and Crafts Fair took place in 1980. It was organized by Tom and His wife, Sue Rebholz, and has become the SBC’s biggest fundraiser. The first Fair raised about $500 for SBC, the 2017 Fair raised nearly $17,000.
The former football stadium concession stand and the Shorewood Fitness Center were among the first projects for the Booster Club. Here is a list of all of our initiatives.
